About Us

More about the child dissociation research team

We are a multidisciplinary team of researchers committed to improving understanding and support for children and young people who experience trauma-related dissociation.

Our Western-Australia based team collaborates closely with families, clinicians, educators, and community partners. We are committed not only to generating high-quality evidence, but to ensuring that our research is accessible, respectful, and responsive to the needs of those most impacted.

Our Commitment

We are deeply committed to:

  • Supporting children and adolescents who experience trauma-related dissociation
  • Upholding trauma-informed research practices, including safety, empowerment, transparency, and collaboration
  • Meaningfully involving people with lived experience (including families and loved ones) in the design and conduct of our research
  • Translating research findings into practical resources and improvements in care

We recognise that trauma-related dissociation is often misunderstood and under-recognised. Our work seeks to contribute to clearer identification, safer support pathways, and improved long-term outcomes for young people.
